Full Moon Atlas: Sector C-1
Northeast Oceanus Procellarum
This region, where northern Oceanus Procellarum
meets Mare Imbrium, is dominated by a ragged area that
includes craters Aristarchus and Herodotus, as well
as the snaking Vallis Schröteri. The light
"rays" in the area are the result of ejecta from the
formation of Aristarchus. Many of the smaller craters in the
sector are unnamed or reference to a larger nearby crater.
