The Full Moon Atlas

Full Moon Atlas: Sector E-5
Sinus Asperitatis West

The rugged area west of Sinus Asperitatis (at center along the right edge of the photograph) and Mare Tranquillitatis (upper right corner) includes the large craters Hipparchus and Albategnius (near the left-center edge). The landing site of Apollo 16 — the next to last visit to the Moon by an Apollo mission — is located virtually at the center of the photo, slightly northeast of tiny Crater Dollond.

NAVIGATION NOTES:
·
Moving your cursor over major geographical features in the photograph below will trigger identifying flags.
· When displayed, approximate crater diameters (in kilometers) are shown within parenthesis.
· To move to an adjoining sector (when available), click on the direction indicator. For example, clicking on the "North" indicator moves you to the sector above the current one displayed.
