Central Mare Fecunditatis/
Eastern Limb
The territory leading to the Moon's eastern edge
is dominated by the central section of Mare Fecunditatis,
with Crater Langrenus dominant near the center of the
photo. Messier A, with its distinctive twin bright rays, is
visible near the upper left corner. Along the eastern (right-hand)
edge of the photo, from center to bottom, are the large craters Kästner,
la Pérouse, Ansgarius and Behaim.
