Schickard-Wargentin Frontier/
Southwestern Limb
The Moon's rugged southwestern frontier, dominated
by wide Crater Schickard (227 km diameter; right of center
in the photograph), with meandering Lacus Excellentiae
visible towards the upper right corner. A trio of large craters
— Wargentin, Nasmyth and Phocylides — are
clustered south of Schickard. Among the larger craters along the
Moon's visible edge is Lagrange (160 km), at the top left
corner in the photo.
